Malaysia Airlines is introducing 3 new routes to India on 3 November 2023 in an effort to increase its connectivity to India.
The flights will originate from the airline’s hub in Kuala Lumpur to Amritsar, Trivandrum, and Ahmedabad.
Kuala Lumpur is one of the preferred layovers for passengers travelling from Australia to India. However, the connection from Kuala Lumpur had been limited too.
Not anymore!
With 3 new connections from Kuala Lumpur, Australia to India flights are going to be a breeze.
With this new route, flights to Amritsar from Australia will become much easier. Here’s the route information you’d need to plan your flights.
Malaysia Airlines expects this new route to bring more convenience for travellers who need to book flights to Trivandrum from Australia while strengthening its network.
With this route, the carrier is confident about building a stronger network so flights to Ahmedabad from Australia can be booked with ease.
The tickets are on sale from 15 September 2023 through 31 March 2024.
The travel, however, begins on 8 November 2023 between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar. On 9 November 2023, service to Thiruvananthapuram will begin. Then on 1 December 2023, flights to Ahmedabad will commence.
In addition, travellers who book their tickets during the period will reportedly receive up to 50% Bonus Enrich Points, which is part of the carrier’s frequent flyer program.
Expanding Frequencies
As travel demand increases, Malaysia Airlines will expand flights to other markets in Australia, China, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Starting this December, the airline will grow its service from KUL to Melbourne and Sydney from 14 flights a week to 15 weekly flights to Melbourne and 16 flights to Sydney.
Group Managing Director of the Malaysia Aviation Group, Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, said –
“India remains a key market for Malaysia Airlines, hence we are delighted to introduce three new routes into our Indian network, which will provide added convenience for travellers, strengthen our presence in this core market and extend our Malaysian Hospitality service even further.”
“Currently, our average load factor on this route is at 81% YTD July 2023 signifying the growth and confidence for travel between the two markets,” Ismail explained. “We are looking at restoring our pre-COVID-19 capacity back in the Indian market by the end of this year and will also look to increase flight frequencies to other destinations as we support seamless travels in Malaysia and beyond.”
The Boeing 737-800 will operate the new routes, accommodating 160 passengers in a two-class configuration.
The airline already flies directly to New Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.
